Port of Vancouver Discovery Centre

Location: Vancouver BC

Area: 6,000 ft2 (560 m2)

Status: Completed 2016 under previous firm Studio B Architects

Completed in collaboration with Lenati, 3Ds, and Burnkit.

The Port of Vancouver’s Discovery Centre was conceived as a part of a five-phase upgrade to the current Canada Place Headquarters.

Studio B worked closely with the Port’s communications and public outreach groups and initiated the concept to renovate and reconfigure the existing exhibit space to work as a multi-functional and ultra-modern entry to the Port’s downtown office. The space would serve as a dynamic and tech forward public exhibit space, an impressive entry to the Port’s offices, a meeting space for regular town hall meetings and a reception space for private functions.

Working hand in hand with Lenati exhibit design, 3Ds and Burnkit, Studio B designed the exhibit shell space which included the reconfiguration of the Port’s secure entry and reception area to be more dynamic, modern and inviting.
